If your SRD R350 application was declined by SASSA and you believe it was a mistake, you can submit an appeal online. The appeal process is handled by the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA).
📝 Who Can Appeal?
You may appeal if your application was declined for any of these reasons:
- Alternative income source identified
- Identity verification failed
- UIF/NSFAS registered
- Grant already received
- Age outside eligible range
⚠️ Note: You must appeal each declined month individually.
💻 How to Appeal Online

- Enter your:
- ID Number
- Cellphone Number (same as on your application)
- Click “Send PIN” and enter the OTP you receive
- Select the month you want to appeal
- Choose a reason and submit
⏳ How Long Does an Appeal Take?
According to ITSAA, appeals can take up to 90 days. You can log in to the same site to check the status of your appeal at any time.
Tip: Make sure your bank details and personal info are updated to avoid delays.
💡 What If You Missed the Appeal Deadline?
If more than 30 days have passed, unfortunately you cannot appeal that month. You must wait for the next month’s decision or submit a new application if necessary.
